Rainy Days

Oh, hello!

Rainy Days are here again. I am stuck at home and since I have nothing urgent to do, I find myself revisiting my blogs and wonder what really happened? Why did I stop blogging regularly?

To be fair, most of my contemporaries in personal blogging are no longer active. The very few ones either treat it now as a business or they simply want to document their lives the old school way (don’t fellow sentimental fools feel the same way?). I aspire to do a mix of both, but I guess the self-inflicted pressure caused me to do nothing at all.

Just like in what I revealed in my supposed ‘comeback post‘ on my other blog, I wasn’t completely unproductive. I am now writing for TV in almost a daily basis and I also do morning pages. Since those two are main priorities now for to make a living and to organize my thoughts / emotions, blogging took a backseat. I had a lot of plans and I am once again stressing myself out if I should still write about the other things I’m passionate about, trips I took and so on. I am even thinking of starting a new blogging project but I dunno.

Let There Be Love!

Christina Aguilera just released a simple yet heartfelt music video for the song ‘Let There Be Love’. The song automatically gives me good vibes! I don’t know why it took her so long to release it as a single, but better late than never!

Christina Aguilera is not the main point of this post, but I'm spreading the LOVE!

Christina Aguilera is not the main point of this post, but I’m spreading the LOVE!

Anyway, this post is not really about Christina Aguilera (although I am planning to write one soon). I want to write this quick post while I have the momentum to do so.

I feel happy and blessed with all the love and appreciation I’ve been receiving especially from my family. It feels great to get daily hugs from my mom and my brother. I know that my father is watching over us. I can also sense that he is proud of what we’ve become.

On Waiting, Boredom and Lack of Inspiration

The other night, I met up with Ada to watch the new movie Suddenly It’s Magic. It’s been a long time since she last saw a Filipino film and this is a kilig movie. Most of the people watching were giggling everytime Marcus (Mario Maurer) does something sweet to Joey (Erich Gonzales).

Teleport Us to Mars! – Tammie Brown cartoon from http://heckyestammiebrown.tumblr.com

I enjoyed this movie because they were able to showcase some of the best spots in Ilocos Norte. We can’t help but calculate the travel time in every important scene toinks. I also enjoyed the scenes shot in Bangkok and Ayutthaya. I wasn’t able to explore Bangkok and Ayutthaya when I went to Thailand last February, and I am eager to go back.

But I can’t for now.

Random Thoughts on the 1st of September

It’s September. Virgos are about to turn a year older this month. I grew up with  two Virgos: My Mama Brenda and Lolo Peping. I also have some good friends and relatives who are celebrating their birthday this month. Want to know one common denominator about Virgos? They are good in handling money. Also, Taurus and Virgo are compatible as friends or lovers. #nowyouknow

Sto Nino Shrine (Romualdez Museum) in Tacloban City

It’s my mom’s birthday today and it’s not just an ordinary one – It’s her 50th Birthday. She finally reached the ‘Golden’ age. I turned 25 this year too. I really feel bad that I can’t be physically present with her now. I could’ve prepared something nice for her. She deserves a grandeur birthday celebration because she’s been working hard since she gave birth to her unica hija. She never really had a ‘vacation’. Being a mother is a full-time job especially if you have a Special Child with you. Sometimes, I feel guilty that I keep on traveling and moving while she’s stuck at work. I’m happy that she’s supportive of my ambition and she never stopped me from pursuing it. You cannot avoid the fact that she gets worried at times (all mothers are like that). I can’t wait to go back to the UK and spend more time with her and my Carlo. I miss my Carlo. I miss my baby big boy brother.

Life and Sunsets

Last week was a pretty tough week for me. No, I didn’t have any direct problems nor caused one. There are just some things in life that you cannot really control. Life is not a computer program where you can debug when you encounter some errors. It is not a full-length movie where you can edit out some parts that you find dragging. Life is a gift that we are lucky to have, no matter how happy or down we are feeling at the moment.

Manila Bay Sunset (January 2010)

I’ve been pushing myself to write a decent blog post or a short screenplay for that matter. I end up trying to figure out what I should be blogging about. I am eager to blog about my UK Trip, but recent events made me temporarily loose that happy momentum. It will be back one day. I just don’t need to force it. I also found some of my unfinished screenplays and I’m thinking of rewriting one that I started three years ago. The story is quite applicable to what is happening around me now. I can impart more justice to my main character.

Writing the Right Stuff (Yet another random post)

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! I am here right now blogging live from my room at 6:35AM. I am not yet sleepy and i don’t have any plans of sleeping. My body wants to lie down and enter dreamland while my mind is telling me to write the right stuff in order to turn my dream into reality.

Playing with Words

I write for a living. I write for a tabloid, I write in my blogs and I write screenplays hoping to be recognized one day. I live because i write. I believe that it is the only medium i can freely express myself. I am not a ‘showy’ person and i am not even vocal in real life. I think i only have the power to make someone i love feel special when i write something about him/her.

I have a lot of draft posts found in my dashboard and i really can’t figure out why i can’t finish most of them. There’s a blog entry about my grandparents’ golden wedding anniversary, my future travel plans and other personal stuff. As much as possible, i would like to keep my Micamyx blog as personal as possible. I would like to put all travel-related posts in Senyorita, but i keep on going back here T_T. The funny thing there is i am the one imposing my own rules and i end up disappointing myself.

When a Sleepy Head Doodles

Even if i have a laptop with me where i can keep soft copies of my thoughts, i still keep a number of notebooks with me. Ever since I was in elementary, I have this habit of reusing some of my school notebooks for doodling. If ever you saw a notebook with my name on it but there’s no doodle at the back, most probably that is not mine.

After the surprise kiddie party my friends prepared for me on my twenty third birthday, i managed to write a doodle on my ‘notebook of the month’. With my red ballpen that I use for proofreading, i wrote some of the things i want to do now that i am 23 years old. There’s something special about turning twenty three and i can’t really explain why. I remember a blogger friend from Livejournal telling me when I was 18 that my 23rd year in planet earth will be a very exciting one. I won’t tell on which specific part of my life that will be, but your guess is as good as mine.

Want to see the doodle? Ok here it is LOL:

Sleepy Mica Doodles

(Forgive me with my poor penmanship. I iz sleepy LOL)

What I wrote there is not arranged in chronological order, but let me explain every point LOL.

Random Updates Before I Say Goodbye to 2009

It’s the 31st of December 2009! It simply means that this is the last day of the year. Later on, most families will have reunions and will say hello to 2010 with a big bang!

My First Candle Shot using LX3 =)

My First Candle Shot using LX3 =)

How was your December? Mine’s  pretty colorful. I went to different places (Dagupan, Davao, Pampanga, Tagaytay and now Subic!) and went out with a number of people. Though I want to blog about everything right now, I think i really can’t. I am still overwhelmed with the wonderful developments in my life, but to give you a glimpse, here’s a random bulleted list update:

Random Ramblings Before I Leave for Cebu

During my interview for Qtube Taken by Ada Lajara

During my interview for Qtube Taken by Ada Lajara

After more than a month, my Bloggers Digest feature at QTube was finally shown. I am really happy with the outcome of the feature since they showed some of my blogs like Micamyx (Personal), Myx Technology (Tech), Pinoy Fans Club (Entertainment), Patay Gutom (Food) and of course, Missing Carlo (Personal/Autism). The main reason why I got lots of readers at my i.ph way back is because of my daily thoughts on my brother, Carlo. Now I believe that he is really my lucky gem. Seeing our photos on tv just feels good and i’m no longer emo about it. I am happy because those who were able to watch it that knows Carlo personally said that it somewhat made them cry because they miss seeing our kulitan together. Btw, he is 5’6 tall according to mom 😛

Babalik sa Sugbu! (na naman!)

Babalik sa Sugbu! (na naman!)

For the third time this year, I am going to Cebu with Ada, Winston and some of the Manila bloggers who will be attending the first ever Philippine Blog Awards-Visayas. I am pretty excited about this since its a first for the Visayas bloggers and I think this is my chance for me to bond with most of them since I failed to do it the last time. I am also excited on who will win at the different categories specifically for the Reader’s Choice since most of the nominees are my friends like Byahilo, Sinjin, Kevin, Bryan Karl and McBilly. Waaaah kalokah kayo LOL. Cebu is also a special place for me since the place itself has the power to make or break my heart (go figure out what that means 😛 ) and yeah, I am craving for Pochero and Lechon! Rawr!

Back From Boracay!

Where was I last Friday and Saturday? I went to Boracay for a much-deserved weekend break at the beach!

I will surely miss Boracay!

I will surely miss Boracay!

This trip is entirely different from the first one. We learned that SEAIR has a shuttle service for the transfer of passengers from Caticlan airport to the island. We failed to enjoy the service the last time since we availed the transfer offered by Tans Guesthouse. We also spent the afternoon searching for the cheapest buko juice and for the best milkshake ever (as recommended by Byahilo). Our accommodation at Eriko’s House is also surprisingly awesome! The room looked better in real-life LOL. We were able to walk from Station 1 to Station 3 (Failed to do this the last time). And yeah, we went to different islands the whole Saturday for only Php500 with buffet lunch!

Expect a longer blog entry about this on my upcoming travel blog which will be publicly announced soon. I’m excited! 😀
